For decades, the Fondation Rawji has been a catalyst of proactive community-based corporate social responsibility initiatives that have been set up to advance the talents and skills of the Congolese population.

Uplifting communities to realize potential

We are determined to create accessible, inclusive educational opportunities to empower the Congolese population and nurture their leadership skills.

We strive to achieve this through both traditional and unconventional education. We believe that dynamic programs encompassing various vocational education and blended learning curricula equip today's modern youth with tangible skills that open the gates of further possibilities and economic opportunities.

Planting the seeds of brilliance

We redefine the status quo to overcome barriers that inhibit the communities we serve from moving forward. We revitalize essential community cornerstones by rehabilitating and constructing schools, auditoriums, libraries, universities, orphanages, and community centers to create a sustainable, long-term framework that empowers and supports generations to come.

Turning ambitions into realities

Recognizing the hardships facing today's youth to continue their education and the untapped potential within them due to the challenges facing educational institutions; we provide grants to facilitate students' academic journeys and actively support educational bodies to guide students on the path to leadership.

Testimonials

Find out how we impact people's lives in the words of the very individuals that we set out to empower and support.

I received the Fondation Rawji Prix d’Excellence after my graduation in Goma (DRC) in 2007 and I am grateful for the initiative. It was the first time in my life to have more than 100 dollars. The  "Rawji Prix d'Excellence" opened up a lot of opportunities and now I am a lawyer in Canada.

  • Richard Mbokani, Graduate of the University of Ottawa Law School, Lecturer & Lawyer

After receiving the Fondation Rawji - Prix d’Excellence, I applied as a research assistant at the Department of Chemistry of the National Pedagogical University. At the same time, the Jesuit Fathers appointed me as a teaching assistant at the Institut Supérieur Agro-Vétérinaire de Kimwenza, where I taught chemistry for two years. Later, this award proved to be a major asset for my admission to the PhD program at Laval University (Quebec, Canada). I made an accelerated transition from master's to doctorate in a few months. I feel privileged to have been able to benefit from the Award of Excellence at a pivotal moment in my scientific career.

  • Dr. Pierre Betu Kasangana, Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of British Columbia

During my studies, I was a recipient of the Fondation Rawji - Prix d’Excellence. This allowed me to complete my DEA project which was admitted to the Federal University of Lavras in Brazil. I was admitted to the DEA program for two years, and then to my thesis. Today, I am a professor in several Congolese universities and a researcher at the Federal University of Lavras. I am the Rector of the Université Libre des Pays des Grands Lacs in Butembo and I am the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences at the official University of Ruwenzori. The Prix d’Excellence was a real catalyst in my academic and professional career!

  • Dr. Jeannot Kavuya, Agricultural Engineer and researcher in EcoDevelopment and AgroBiodiversity
